The threatening severe weather did not stop thousands of concert goers from packing the Bell Stage at the Plains of Abraham at Festival d’été de Québec. Saturday night’s line-up of performers at this 11-day festival were spectacular and featured Imagine Dragons, Bishop Briggs, and Kongos.
Although we only got to see Imagine Dragons perform two songs, they pulled out all the stops to make sure the fans got to see at least that. They got on stage earlier than expected because of a major thunderstorm looming. The moment they took to the stage the skies opened up with torrential rain and the festival grounds were evacuated soon after. I was amazed at how calm and almost joyous the crowds were as they evacuated into the streets of Quebec City, singing and splashing around, and making the best of a very unfortunate situation.
After drying off I had the chance to check out Reignwolf at Manège Militaire as part of a new feature to the festival called After FEQ. Stay tuned to Canadian Beats for a separate article highlighting the details about it!

I’m Nicole, a biology teacher by day, but my life revolves around music. I’m that girl that you will always find with the concert t-shirt on and ear buds in. It is rare that you find me without some type of music playing in the background. I connect all of my life experiences to music. It truly has its own language in my heart. There is nothing more exciting than taking in all that a concert has to offer. I love to support local Canadian acts and attend as many shows that I can.
