Where: Place des Arts, Montreal QC
When: July 2nd 2019

Day 7 of the Montreal International Jazz Festival had sunny skies, big crowds and massive names on the lineup! We started our evening at Salle Wilfrid Pelletier, with electro-pop American duo DRAMA, which had us sway to the catchy beats of Na’el Shehade and Via Rosa’s sweet voice.

It had been a while since British indie rock sensation alt-J had paid Montreal a visit, two years to be exact. As soon as the band hit the stage, the audience quickly showed how glad it was to have them back, with thunderous cheers all throughout the venue. Inside an incredible lights display, the band put on a stellar performance, which left every spectator hoping they will not have to wait another two years to experience this again!

Finally, we headed to the main outdoor stage for one of the biggest acts of the festival: Nick Murphy. Formerly known by many as Chet Faker, the Australian musician put on an exquisite show in front of a jam-packed Place des Festivals, alternating between the old famously moody tracks, and his brand-new, more funky content. Murphy’s set was for sure the perfect way to start the weekend post-long weekend!
