Cavendish Beach Music Festival kicks off on July 5 until July 7 in Cavendish, PEI. The talent that is set to play is overwhelming, but we have caught up with a few of the artists/ bands to chat with us in a countdown to the big event. We started things off with Alli Walker, then Dan Davidson, and Shawn Austin. Today we’re chatting with Jason Benoit.
First off, care to introduce yourself to the readers?
Hey Everyone! My name is Jason Benoit, a proud Canadian Country Music Singer/Songwriter!
Have you performed at Cavendish Beach Music Festival in the past? If so, what is your favourite memory of CBMF? If not, what are you most looking forward to?
I definitely have! I performed at CBMF for the past 3 years and feel so blessed they keep asking me back. The east coast is a beautiful place and they have some of Canada’s best country music fans! My favorite memory was last year when I got to close out the weekend with thousands of fans singing along to my songs! It was incredible!
Prince Edward Island holds any tourist attractions; do you plan to do any sightseeing? If so, what do you plan to check out?
For sure! It’s just a given that if you go to PEI You HAVE to go to the beach. Regardless where you are on PEI you are only a hop, skip, and a jump from the white sands of PEI. It’s just so beautiful!
How do you decide on a set list when playing a festival as big as CBMF?
Any festival is like one big party, So I always try to keep the energy as high as possible having a mix of my songs and many popular country songs from days gone by that everyone can sing along to.

Get ready to sing along!
The lineup at CBMF is stellar this year, are there any artists you feel the need to check out?
I’m a huge Eric Church fan! He’s such an incredible songwriter, so many great songs.

Besides the music, what is your favourite thing about festivals?
Can I say “the beer”? hahaha. Joking! Rain or shine it’s always just a good old time, everyone is out to have some fun.
What was the first festival you ever attended as a fan? What about as a performer?
Actually, this is no lie, but both answers are Cavendish Beach Music Festival! Haha. I’ve been incredibly blessed to have such an incredible festival be a part of my life for so as long as it has. It’s truly one of the best if not “the” best in Canada!
