After recovering from last night’s “Funk it up” opening party, Montrealers made their way back to the Quartier des Festivals to enjoy the second day of the Montreal International Jazz Festival!
We started our evening by checking out Cécile Doo-Kingué, and were immediately charmed by the warm and energetic sounds of the guitarist/singer/songwriter, who can definitely put on one hell of a performance!
Next, we headed over to Begonia‘s set. The Winnipeg pop artist gave an emotional show, to the sound of her incredible voice singing emotional lyrics with upbeat melodies.
Finally, as the hours passed by, a bigger and bigger crowd gathered to the main stage to witness hometown sweetheart Charlotte Cardin truly take her career to a next level. Under a sky growling with thunder, the ex-model/The Voice contestant showed how much she has grown since her last performance at the festival (opening for MIKA 3 years ago). From her gorgeous looks to the sultry sound of her voice, there is no denying that Charlotte has something magnetic about her, which only left the crowd wanting for more.
