On June 9th at The Opera House, American Football will be returning to Toronto for the first time since the release of their highly anticipated third full-length record American Football (2019).
The band released their first full-length record in 1999 and disbanded shortly after. The band’s popularity grew over the internet leading to their reunion shows in 2014 and finally a second full-length record in 2016.
Fast forward 3 years, American Football has released yet another record and is still touring extensively. Countless bands have released reunion albums and toured on them, but the comeback is not often something that lasts.
Now with a third record released, American Football has been showing signs that their reforming is more than just nostalgia, and this return to Toronto is a testament to that.
Their show tomorrow night at the Opera House starts at 8:00 pm with support from Ellis.

Tyler was born in London, Ontario and is currently in his fourth year of Western’s BFA Studio Art program. Tyler first started music photography when he brought his camera to a house show for a school project. What he enjoyed most about it was the overlap between music and visual arts, and it led him to pursue concert photography even further. Along with photographing live music, he loves to perform it as well. He is a singer-songwriter who has had the pleasure of opening for midwest emo acts like Joan of Arc.
