It’s always a great time when we get to chat with a group of talented performers, and this year’s lineup for 77 Montreal features just that! The one-day festival takes place in Montreal on July 26, 2019, at Parc Jean-Drapeau. Get your tickets HERE. We are starting the countdown off with Montreal’s own punk rock band, The Lookout!
First off, care to introduce yourself to our readers?
Hey! I’m Martha Rockhard, the vocals in The Lookout. I like to think of the band as uplifting punk rock. I love playing with my buddies Franky the riff master, Simon the badass thunderbroom and Nic, drummer extraordinaire.
77 Montreal is a full day celebrating alternative music. How does it feel to be a part of the amazing lineup?
It’s super fun that we get to spend the day with friends and share the stage with really cool cats!
Have you taken part in 77 Montreal before? If so, what was the highlight of your previous involvement?
When I was there last year, I was eight months pregnant and a bunch of strangers came up to me to tell me they thought I was beautiful. I think that’s a great example of how sweet punk rockers can be.
The line-up for the 2019 installment is incredible, is there one specific performer that you’re most excited to check out?
Yes! I’ve never seen OFF! and the all the dudes in the band are killer so I’m excited to watch them for sure. Also my buddies RedMass cause I love them.
Are you performing at any other festivals this summer that you’d like to tell us about?
We just played Pouzza which was a good time. Besides that, we’re really stoked to share the stage with Metalian and Painbow June 15th at l’hémisphère gauche. That’s gonna be a hell of a party!
If you were able to put together your own festival, what would you call it, and which five artists/ bands would you want to play
Rockhard, which I believe already exists. Danzig, Lightning Bolt, Probot, Infest, Neil Young.
Explain your performance in less than 10 words…and go!
High energy! Raw power! Good times!
