This year’s Canadian Music Week (CMW) wrapped up on Sunday. On May 9th, CMW celebrated Canada’s music industry with the annual Canadian Music and Broadcast Industry Awards.
The event, which took place at REBEL in Toronto, was a night to remember, with performances by members of Three Days Grace, Alexisonfire, and Billy Talent, and by Indigenous Youth Hand Drum group, Jonathon Butler, Logan Staats, 54:40, and more.
Highlights included the induction of Michael McCarty, Steve Herman, and Robbie Robertson into the Canadian Music and Broadcast Industry Hall of Fame and the Allan Slaight Humanitarian Spirit Award presented to the late Gord Downie.
The Canadian Music and Broadcast Industry Awards also recognized a number of other winners across all areas of the industry, such as Music Director of the Year, Independent Label, Promoter, and more.
Hey, I’m Hannah! I’ve loved music since before I can remember, and I’m so excited to be combining it with my love for photography. My heart belongs to the alternative and indie genres, but I enjoy pretty much any kind of live music. You can check out more of my work at hannahmaynes.ca, or on Instagram @hmaynesphoto
