Who: John Anderson
Where: Redline Brewhouse, Barrie, Ontario
When: May 4, 2019
John Anderson celebrated the release of his debut EP at Redline Brewhouse in Barrie last week to a sold-out crowd. Although still in high school, Anderson is no stranger to Canadian Beats, having won the 2017 Magna Hoedown Showdown competition for youth. He caught our eye then and its evident that he has been working tirelessly to create That’s What Country People Do. With numerous trips to Nashville and working with some incredibly talented musicians, like Toronto-based Al Rowe, who also opened the show for him, he created an incredible set of tunes worthy of any country music hall, radio station, back yard BBQ, or music festival. Did we mention Anderson is still a teenager?

I’m Nicole, a biology teacher by day, but my life revolves around music. I’m that girl that you will always find with the concert t-shirt on and ear buds in. It is rare that you find me without some type of music playing in the background. I connect all of my life experiences to music. It truly has its own language in my heart. There is nothing more exciting than taking in all that a concert has to offer. I love to support local Canadian acts and attend as many shows that I can.
