On the weekend of August 16th, 17th, and 18th, Riverfest Elora will turn up the volume to 11. Founded by Elora artist Marilyn Koop in 2009, this high-energy festival continues in her memory. Emerged in the full music festival experience, Riverfest has no shortage of arts, culture, and of course a top-notch music line-up.
Playing host to some of music’s finest melody makers, including The Flaming Lips, Blue Rodeo, The Sheepdogs, and Walk off The Earth; Riverfest delivers on the talent. With three stages, it’s easy to find something to listen to. Artist vendors in Artisan Alley, tasty Food truck consumable, and captivating lit up creatures laid around the grounds, Riverfest Elora is an excellent music festival experience.
I’ve learned since attending Riverfest Elora, that even though there is always a stellar Main Stage line-up, The Koop Stage, and The Wax On wheels stage, can contain some surprises; one of my favourite parts of a music festival.
This 11th year, Riverfest will showcase, City in Colour, Alice Merton, Joel Plaskett (Emergency), Terra Lightfoot, and The Mighty Mighty Bosstones, just to name a few. This line-up demonstrates the standard to which Riverfest holds to its music festival experience.
Wandering EMm Photography origins came from a wanderer who saw the world in vibrant colour, unique compositions, and an understanding of the dance between light and dark. With her ’Beastie’ as she affectionately calls her camera, EMm can be found at most events, festival, and of course, is a regular at a concert. EMm has a strong passion for music. Using her camera, EMm can capture that moment in time where melody meets lyric, and exists as memory. Musicians have a tiny window to imprint you with their gift of song, given as thoughts, emotions, and experiences. EMm would like to seize that opportunity, and photograph that moment when it all connects. ‘How far will you wander… creatively?’
