Who: Matthew Good with POESY
When: March 21, 2019
Where: Bella Concert Hall, Calgary AB

Calgary’s beautiful Bella Concert Hall marked the second last stop on Matthew Good’s Canadian Solo Acoustic Tour – a perfect venue for this show.

Matthew could not have found a more perfect opener than POESY. The Toronto indie artist is deservedly making a name for herself after winning her episode of CTV’s ‘The Launch’ and releasing “Soldier of Love” from the show in 2018. Lights dimmed and the room fell silent as POESY’s stunning voice filled the beautiful room, accompanied only by keyboardist Will O’Donnell and captivating every audience member in attendance. POESY’s new single Strange Little Girl is out now and we are looking forward to what she will bring us in the near future – it is sure to be amazing.

The lights went completely out for Matthew Good‘s entrance to the stage and first song “Champions of Nothing” – a beautiful opener. Matt explained that he kept it dark to prove a point – that we are here for listening, not seeing – a point that was appropriate for the evening. He commanded the stage and wonderful room with only his powerful voice and acoustic guitar,  offering stirring renditions of his songs from both The Matthew Good Band and his solo efforts. The versions of Hello Time Bomb and Apparitions were goosebump-inducing and the rest of the set mesmerizing given the way he delivered his art paired with the atmosphere of the room.

Matt is back in the studio after finishing the tour on March 23 in Vancouver.
