Saskatoon, SK-based band Too Soon Monsoon is back with a video for their newest single, “Stay Golden” from their upcoming album, Waves: we provide what we absorb, we absorb what we provide which is due for release on May 3.
The single, which was produced, mixed, and engineered by The Ghost of Adam J Productions (Adam Grant), was inspired by the novel, The Outsiders and Greg’s late uncle who years ago had requested a song to be written around the phrase, “Stay Gold, Ponyboy” for a high-school drama adaptation of the novel. The request for the song was ignored and forgotten, but following the sudden loss of this uncle, the song came to life. The idea of staying golden is to stay full of light since our lives can drastically change at any given moment. Following ‘Strange Age’ on the upcoming full-length album, this song connects to the idea of going deeper inwards, reflecting on the past, but using it to keep moving forward – toward light.
The video was filmed by Kristen Torwalt and you can check it out below.
The band will be performing on March 12 with Yes We Mystic at Black Cat Tavern in Saskatoon, if you’re able to attend, grab your tickets HERE.
