Submissions are now open for Project WILD 2019!

Heading into the fourth year of accelerating the careers of Albertan artists, Alberta Music and WILD 953 have once again come together to launch the 2019 season of Project WILD.

Project WILD is an artist development program designed to educate, promote, develop and launch the careers of Alberta’s most up and coming country and roots artists. After the jury deliberation of the entries, the Top 12 finalists of the program will be selected based on musicianship, vocal performance, songwriting ability and live performance. These Albertan artists will each receive a $5,000 development grant and participate in Project WILD’s career changing music industry boot camp – an intense one-week workshop to hone their skills in performance, songwriting, marketing, media strategy, music business, music accounting, tour strategy and social media.

Carly Klassen, Executive Director of Alberta Music, declares:

“Alberta Music is proud to once again be working with WILD 95.3 to administer what can essentially be a life-changing program for artists. Project WILD is often a deeply transformative experience for all of the Top 12 artists, whether or not they ultimately leave with the prize money. We can’t wait to hear Alberta’s talent this year!”

Pushing artists to their creative limits, the program requires participants to complete a series of criteria and challenges over five months, followed by a public showcase and vote to win a place in the coveted Top 3. Vying for the top prize of $100,953, second and third place will be awarded $75,000 and $50,000, respectively. Last year’s Top 3 were grand prize winner The Prairie States, followed by Ryan Langlois(2nd place), and Leaving Thomas (3rd place).

Submissions opened on Friday, and run until Monday April 1 at 12:00pm MT. Artists are encouraged to visit the official Project WILD website to review eligibility regulations and submit their applications. The Top 12 Artist selection will be announced on Sunday, May 26, live on-air with WILD 953.
