PREMIERE – Navigate The Sky releases new single, “Cut Me Off”

Toronto, ON-based pop trio, Navigate the Sky is back with a brand new single, “Cut Me Off” via HR Music Group/ Sony Music Canada. We are more than happy to team up with the band to give our readers the first listen!

The band shares on the single,

““Cut Me Off” is about distrusting your instincts, passing on a gut feeling. We’ve all done it. You find yourself wishing you had done something before what happened inevitably, happened. We hope this song helps get you through similar times, and dance while you’re at it.”

Check out the single below and find out more about the band in our Five Questions With segment.

Care to introduce yourself to our readers?

Brendan, Shane, and Josh: We’re Navigate the Sky, an alt-pop trio from Toronto. Thank you for having us!

Tell us a bit about your music and writing style.

Brendan: I’d like to think we’re a delicate balance of modern pop and indie-rock. Writing is almost entirely done with a computer, structuring songs together like a puzzle. The three of us have a background in audio production, which makes bouncing ideas off each other simple and constructive.

Do you have any upcoming shows? For someone who has yet to see you live, how would you explain your live performance?

Josh: Even though our sound is electronically-driven, we try to keep our live sound as organic and raw as possible. For the people paying to see us play, it’s not just another show, each night is a performance we’ve carefully pieced together. Our next show is April 25th in Brampton at the Rose Theatre.

If you were asked to suggest only one of your songs for someone to hear, which would it be?

Shane: I’d suggest our newest single “Cut Me Off” to a new listener. This single is a great representation of our sound and I think people will enjoy the contrast between the moody lyrics and the energetic instrumentation that the song has to offer.

Canadian Beats is all about Canadian music, so who are your current favourite Canadian bands/ artists?

Brendan: Honestly, this is a tough question… we listen to so many talented Canadian artists. I’ve really been into Valley’s new EP “Maybe – Side A” lately, definitely check that out. We also opened for a band called New City earlier this year, go have a listen to them – amazing guys and killer songwriters.
