Calgary Folk Festival puts on their fourth annual Block Heater

Once again, this February in the midst of the cold Canadian winter, Calgary will be warming up with their fourth annual Block Heater.

From February 21-23, 2019, Calgary Folk Fest’s Block Heater will be in full swing with concerts and collaborative sessions from 28 Albertan, Canadian and International artists. The 2-day event will host artists and events at Festival Hall, Studio Bell, The King Eddy and The New Central Library.

“We love to bring the city together around music during the colder months – it’s a great excuse to get out and about with family and friends and revel in the amazing community that Calgary has to offer” says Kerry Clarke, Artistic Director, The Calgary Folk Music Festival.

Block Heater which is presented by ATB with a special thanks to the Michelle O’Reilly Fund and The Calgary Folk Music Festival will include a lineup of artists such as Matt Mays, Basia Bulat, The Wet Secrets and many more. This genre-spanning festival will surely please the city of Calgary, and those close by!

2019 marks the Calgary Folk Music Festival’s 40th anniversary, and Block Heater will be sure to reflect this celebratory benchmark.
