Event: 80s Flashback
When: 23 November 2018
Venue: Cabaret du Casino Montreal
Where: Montreal, QC
Neon fashion, hairspray, and great music are some of the best memories we have of the 80s era. Highly regarded as one of the most iconic decades in history, the 80s are still a major influence on fashion, culture, and the music industry. The 80s gave us some of the best things we have today including awesome music that is still played on the radio. Retro is fun again and with shows such as 80s Flashback you can relive all those moments over and over again.
80s Flashback is back again at the Cabaret du Casino in Montreal. Bringing back to life the hits of 80s artists such as Whitney Houston, Donna Summer, Rick Astley, Katrina & The Waves, Madonna, Cyndi Lauper, Culture Club, George Michael, Blondie, Bryan Adams, and so much more 80s Flashback will run for 13 more dates extending until January 5, 2019. You don’t want to miss out on this exciting production.
The show opens with “The Final Countdown” which was a Number One hit in 25 countries for the band Europe when it was released as a single back in 1986. 80s Flashback features the talents of Nancy Fortin, Patricia Bernier, David Latulippe, Yanick Lanthier, and Serge Fortin who are backed by a team of 10 dancers and a stellar house band. These artists perform each song with total passion and leave you feeling energized and wanting more. A medley of Whitney Houston’s “I Wanna Dance With Somebody,” Donna Summer’s “She Works Hard For The Money,” Rick Astley’s “Never Gonna Give Up On You,” and Katrina & The Waves “Walking On Sunshine” gets the party going and the audience up and on their feet from the beginning of the show. That is only a fraction of the great songs you will hear throughout the night.
Each artist had stand out performances and was able to prove why they were up on the stage. From (Nancy) Fortin’s powerful rendition of “The Greatest Love of All,” to Latulippe giving his all during his performance of Michael Jackson’s “Thriller” they don’t miss a single beat. Bernier also served up some great performances ranging from Madonna’s “Material Girl,” to Quebec’s own Queen of Rock, Marjo and her hit “Illegal.” Lanthier is an enthusiastic performer with mad vocal skills and gives 150% while on stage. (Serge) Fortin brought a little rock and roll to the show with one of the best rock voices I have heard in a while. Combined these five talented artists prove to be unstoppable on stage in 80s Flashback.
80s Flashback has tons of costume changes, slick dance routines, a well-crafted set list, and is a full homage to an entire decade that is sure to entertain you! This show does not disappoint. Relive those memories, hairstyles, and magic of the music with 80s Flashback. With many shows remaining throughout the month of December at the Cabaret du Casino, take a night off and try to catch 80s Flashback before it’s gone.

Music has touched my soul since day one. Whether it is performing or sitting down with some of the biggest names in music, I can always be found sharing my profoundly tender affection of music with anyone who will listen. Being a music journalist has allowed me to expand my knowledge of music and interact with some of my biggest childhood heroes. From days of radio broadcasting to sitting back, kicking off my cowboy boots and sharing my adventures with likeminded music fans online has been nothing short of amazing. Canada is full of true musical talent and I look forward to continuing to share my adventures in music with you.
