Care to introduce yourself to our readers?

Hi, my name is Chiara (which most people mistakenly pronounce – the “h” is silent 😉 ). I’m a 26-year-old singer-songwriter and nerd enthusiast. I just released my newest single “Fallout” on all streaming platforms which just hit 15k on Spotify within the first three weeks!

I’ve been singing for most of my life. I remember as a kid, I’d put on shows in my living room until one day I decided to actually pursue my dreams of being a pop artist. While I did take a break from doing a solo project to compose for TV and commercials, I decided that my passions lie in myself as a solo artist and being able to inspire others to do what they love through my own music. I haven’t looked back since!

Tell us a bit about your music and writing style.

My music is very dear to me. It’s an outlet for me for things that happen in my everyday life or even sometimes in whatever video game I’m playing. My music tends to be very hook-driven and catchy.  When it comes to my writing style, it’s definitely inspired by whatever I’m feeling the most at that moment in my life, whether it be heartbreak, trauma, strength or confidence.

Do you have any upcoming shows? For someone who has yet to see you live, how would you explain your live performance?

No shows as of yet but we’re working on the live set as we speak and I’d say it’s expected to be a very energetic, emotional experience for not only me but for anyone who gets the chance to catch a set.

If you were asked to suggest only one of your songs for someone to hear, which would it be?

It would probably be my next single coming out on October 11, “Not 4 You”. It’s the perfect mix of catchy and relatable lyrics and definitely something you can bop your head to. I find that’s really important to me in a song.

Canadian Beats is all about Canadian music, so who are your current favourite Canadian bands/ artists?

There are so many incredible Canadian artists coming out right now, especially out of the Greater Toronto Area but I’m definitely in love with those heavy-hitters.  They inspire me so much to write the best pop tracks I can possibly imagine: Jessie Reyez, Shawn Mendes, the always unforgettable Justin Bieber and The Weeknd.
