Ontario’s Kickback Tracii took some time out of their schedule to chat with us for our newest segment of Five Questions With. Check out their single, “Down By The River” below and find out more about this talented country rock band!
Care to introduce yourself to our readers?
Formed in 2013 in Cochrane Ontario, Kickback Tracii is a country rock band consisting of Eric Girard (vocals and guitar), Chris Burton (bass) and Paul Joanis (skins). Kickback Tracii’s main goal is to entertain the North by writing songs that everyone can relate to.
Tell us a bit about your music and writing style .
Kickback Tracii’s style comes from the Northern Ontario music scene. Music and vocal roots influenced by hard rock, country and classic rock, creating a very unique and modern sound that we feel we can call our own.
Do you have any upcoming shows? For someone who has yet to see you live, how would you explain your live performance?
We would tell someone who hasn’t seen us live yet to expect a very energetic show. From Eric’s upbeat lyrics and awesome guitar skills to Chris’s impeccable bass playing and Paul’s insane drum solos, the stage is always rocking.
If you were asked to suggest only one of your songs for someone to hear, which would it be?
That’s an easy one, “Down by the River”. Our true Northern Roots shine through in this song and it’s a tune we can all connect with.
Canadian Beats is all about Canadian music, so who are your current favourite Canadian bands/ artists?
There are so many great Canadian artists to choose from and our influences come from all over but these are a few we really like and that have found some inspiration in their music:
I’m Jenna, and I am the founder and editor of Canadian Beats. I have had a strong love for Canadian music, which started many years ago. I have a passion for promoting these talented Canadian bands and artists, and that’s how Canadian Beats came to be. I am so proud of what it has become over the last few years, with many talented music lovers and writers coming together to spread the word of Canada’s music.
