The Halifax Urban Folk Festival (HUFF) has announced the return of More Than Words—a free songwriters workshop for new or seasoned writers. It takes place on Saturday, September 1st from 1:00 p.m. to 2:30 p.m. in the Tasting Room at Propeller Brewing Co. located at 2015 Gottingen Street in Halifax, Nova Scotia. The workshop is presented in association with the Propeller Brewing Company and with support from Music Nova Scotia and the SOCAN Foundation.
More Than Words is a professional development opportunity for local songwriters to discover inspiration and stories behind some beloved songs. Hey Rosetta’s Tim Baker, the talented and local Reeny Smith, The Lowest of the Low’s Ron Hawkins, and Sadie Campbell —a Vancouver songwriter—will lead the workshop.
Although free and open to the public, it is recommended to RSVP for the workshop by emailing info@halifaxurbanfolkfestival.
I’m Shayla, and I was born in Saskatoon but moved to Halifax in 2013 for University, and since decided to stay here for a while. I recently received a Bachelor of Design, after studying photography for a year or two as well. I love everything about music and how it has the ability to bring so many people together from across the country and even the world. My passion for music is one of the reasons I moved East to pursue a photography and design career, as I would love to do graphic design and photography within the Canadian music industry.
