Review – Ben Klick

Album: Working on a Legacy
Release Date: July 31, 2018
Genre: Country

Ben Klick is taking the title of his new album Working on a Legacy seriously; the Vancouver-native has been all over the country music map, performing at major festivals like Sunfest and the Calgary Stampede; opening for country music icon Tanya Tucker, and sharing bills with heavy hitters from Carrie Underwood, to Toby Keith, Chase Bryant, Tim Hicks, and Brett Kissel.

His list of awards keeps growing; five North American Country Music Association Awards, two British Columbia Country Music Awards, and he was a Top 7 Canada’s Walk of Fame Emerging Artist, BreakOut West SOCAN Song House Participant, and Global Country Canada Star Search Winner. Nothing short of impressive for this 22-year-old.

Klick has been touring Canada promoting his new EP. The 7-track collection is a mixture of breezy, sweet love letters and a lot of personality. Working on a Legacy is full of hope, charm, and entertaining stories all wrapped in lovely country melodies. In moments of romance and adventure (“Middle of Nowhere”, “What’s Going On”, “That’s Who I Wanna Be”, “Blind Side”) reflection (“Legacy”, “Better Man”), and just a hint of young heartbreak (“The Magician”), Klick will steal your heart in the form of his youthful, adventurous storytelling. An artist that is well on his way to creating that legacy.
