I feel very blessed to have done so many interviews with many artists and people within the Canadian Music Industry. Every once in awhile, an opportunity comes along that blows me away. During Manitoulin Country Fest, I was able to set up an interview with Canada’s Queen of Country Music, Carroll Baker. This lady is as down to earth as they come and an absolute joy to talk to. My only problem was, how do I ask her all I want to and keep the interview within reasonable time restrictions. We did the best we could. She made me laugh and almost brought me to tears singing a beautiful gospel song in a cappella. She shared some great stories from her past and announced an East Coast Fall Tour that will be a mix of gospel songs and her hits.
Later that day, she graced the MCF2018 Main Stage and owned it with a class and energy that was inspiring.
Thank you Carroll Baker for being a role model to the up-and-coming female artists of today, for showing all of us that age is only a number and as long as you are doing what you love, you are as young as you feel.
Hello everyone! My name is Linda and I have been a fan of Canadian Music for as long as I can remember. That counts for way too many decades than I want to admit to! I have three primary passions in my life, music, photography and writing. When I can combine them all, I feel I am right where I should be. Though I can appreciate all genres of music, my particular favourite is Country. Canadian Country is moving in leaps and bounds. I love how it is progressing and I’m thankful that I can be a small part of it.
