Care to introduce yourself to our readers?
Born in Edmonton, I am quickly breaking out as Canada’s next multi-talented superstar. Currently, I’m working on the completion of my first album in Los Angeles and Nashville.
Also, I have acted in professional theatre since a young age and performed in A Christmas Carol, Midsummers Night Dream, Sussical at the Edinburgh Fringe Festive and Edmonton Short Film Festival, Casador.
On top of that, I dedicate myself to serving those in need by attending mission trips to Skidrow and youth centres in the far north.
Tell us a bit about your music and writing style.
My music is a blend of pop and urban. I like hip-hop, so you hear it in a few of my songs as well. I have a lot of respect for what Drake did for many Canadian artists which is incorporating hip-hop, urban, and pop together. The Weeknd also started a new unique sound for singers launching out of Canada.
For someone who has yet to see you live, how would you explain your live performance?
My shows are full of energy and humour. It’s the Canadian wit I was born with.
If you were asked to suggest only one of your songs for someone to hear, which would it be?
I recently released, “Kiss Me Goodbye” and “She Back”, which I am very pleased with (as are my fans). However, “Falling for You” to be released soon is the one everyone is waiting for! It turned out really great.
I completed filming my first music video “Kiss Me Goodbye” in Los Angel released April 20, 2018. That was a lot of fun! I also decided to keep the Purple Challenger we used in the video.
Canadian Beats is all about Canadian music, so who are your current favourite Canadian bands/ artists?
