Care to introduce yourself to our readers?

I’ve been a session musician and singer for a long time. I was formally signed to stony plain records distributed worldwide by Warner Bros. I’m currently at published singer-songwriter in Nashville and I’m releasing singles all over the world.

I’m a father and a husband, love sports, fishing and target shooting. Try to get the Blue Jays and Leafs games when I can.

I also work within the brain injury community and will be lecturing at the National Symposium in Ottawa this fall regarding Performance of music within the community of Survivors I.e. Establishing live performance bands for those wanting to get their music back.

Tell us a bit about your music and writing style.

I have a wide variety of tastes and styles within the ever-growing parameters of country music. You may hear a song reminiscent of southern rock bands, classic country, new country and songs that contain elements from all of the above at times. Not uncommon to hear blues influences in my music as well.

I’m right about a lot of different things, and I feel that I’m an observer of life, and I love to write about experiences I’ve had or friends/family members have had. I write in Nashville every few weeks and my publisher has me writing with a lot of amazing songwriters. I’m really enjoying this aspect of my career a lot.

Do you have any upcoming shows? For someone who has yet to see you live, how would you explain your live performance?

We’re currently working on a tour of Europe that will be coming up in the new year as well as New Zealand has asked if I would consider going there. People coming to hear the show can expect really solid songs, topically, a little deeper than current trends with an amazing group of players. We bridge substance and fun and move between both. Hopefully, it’s a fun roller coaster!

If you were asked to suggest only one of your songs for someone to hear, which would it be?

That’s a really difficult question for singer/songwriter to answer. It’s probably the one I’m currently working on LOL

I’d probably recommend the current single, “If A Little Bit’s Good (A Whole Lots Better)”.

Canadian Beats is all about Canadian music, so who are your current favourite Canadian bands/artists?

I like Dean Brody, George Canyon, Bobby Wills, Paul Brandt and Jessica Mitchell. I think Jan Arden is pretty amazing!
