The Mississauga Waterfront Festival (MWF) celebrated their 22nd year, June 15-17, in the picturesque Port Credit Memorial Park. Saturday and Sunday’s line-up was billed as Credit Goes Country with many local and provincial acts gracing the Tim Hortons Stage and was presented by KX Country 94.7 and 95.9.
Saturday’s line-up included:
Big City Lights
River Town Saints
Sunday’s line-up included:
Mackenzie Leigh Meyer
Patsy Cline Tribute
Sunday also had Double Trouble – Line Dancing Lessons twice during the afternoon, where many of the patrons participated.
Over the course of the two days, we were able to meet up with many of the artists and talk to them about this event and what they have been up to. Here is Part 2 of our interviews.
Genevieve Fisher has earned 6 top 50 national country hits. Her last two, “Take It On Home” and “You Me We” climbed into Canada’s top 20 and top 30 respectively. We last caught up with Fisher during the 2018 Country Music Association of Ontario Awards were she was nominated for Female Artist and Single of the Year. Here, we talk with her about her performance at MWF and what a great line-up of female artists were on the bill.
It was only a few weeks since meeting up with Ty Baynton at the 2018 Country Music Association of Ontario Awards, but this time we wrangled a few of his band members, Jesse Nestor and Andre Besel, to join in on the conversation. Here, we talk about their MWF performance, being band mates, an up-coming new album and more!
Mississauga’s Alessia Cohle was a delight to see perform on the MWF stage. When we met for our chat, it was very little about music and a whole lot about her most embarrasing moment at the 2018 Country Music Association of Ontario Awards, Fashion on and off the Red Carpet, where we can find her over the Summer and more!
It’s been awhile since we saw Marshall Dane last. He always puts on a fun show, whether it is for a small group or a festival. He was the Sunday headliner and didn’t disappoint. We talked about performing, new music on the horizon and what’s ahead for him this Summer.
Hello everyone! My name is Linda and I have been a fan of Canadian Music for as long as I can remember. That counts for way too many decades than I want to admit to! I have three primary passions in my life, music, photography and writing. When I can combine them all, I feel I am right where I should be. Though I can appreciate all genres of music, my particular favourite is Country. Canadian Country is moving in leaps and bounds. I love how it is progressing and I’m thankful that I can be a small part of it.
