Who: No Big Deal, Anti-Queens, This Is A Crisis, The Capsized
Where: Lee’s Palace, Toronto ON
When: July 6, 2018
Friday night brought out some of the GTA’s most seasoned and up-and-coming punk rock ‘n’ roll bands to Lee’s Palace in an incredible show put on by Of The Bear Bookings. Streetsville-based NO BIG DEAL (formerly Tomahawk Love) headlined this quadruple bill rock show and brought along their friends Anti-Queens, This Is A Crisis and The Capsized! This was a special show for Canadian Beats to cover as two of our amazing contributors were part of it. Photographer, Michael Amaral, is a riff-master guitarist in NO BIG DEAL and writer, Russ Shipman, is the high energy bass player with This is a Crisis.
This was such a highly anticipated show for me! I have literally been waiting YEARS to capture NO BIG DEAL in my lens and they did not disappoint! They opened their set full-throttle with the performance of their brand new single, “Can’t Let This Go” and kept up the intensity through their entire show. Do yourself a favour and check out this band! Their on-stage chemistry and shenanigans are the perfect combination for getting sweaty as you dance and sing along! The band will be performing on July 19 at The Casbah in Hamilton, July 28 at The Foxx in Barrie and at Rock The Coliseum in Mississauga on August 3. Show your love and follow them on their socials!

I’m Nicole, a biology teacher by day, but my life revolves around music. I’m that girl that you will always find with the concert t-shirt on and ear buds in. It is rare that you find me without some type of music playing in the background. I connect all of my life experiences to music. It truly has its own language in my heart. There is nothing more exciting than taking in all that a concert has to offer. I love to support local Canadian acts and attend as many shows that I can.
