Earlier this year, Scarborough-based R&B artist LOONY released her first single, “A Small Flame” which Apple Music caught wind of and made LOONY their Artist of the Week in May, and legendary DJ Ebro Darden dubbed LOONY a breaking artist on his Beats 1 show.
Now, she is back with a video for her second single, “Warm Weather”, which was produced by Akeel Henry, a young Toronto based producer who has worked with many artists such as Kid Ink, Jeremih, Ty Dolla $ign, and more.
The video was premiered on Noisey, and LOONY shared,
“‘Warm Weather’ is my ode to summer. It’s a nostalgic time of year to me, that always seems fraught with so much expectation, yet so much freedom, and growing up it would ultimately just lead to boredom and getting into trouble. The song itself is really upbeat and breezy, but I wrote the lyrics to kind of imply that an increase in temperature does not always mean an increase in mood or state of mind.”
