The month of June flying by can only mean one thing: we are getting closer and closer to Osheaga! Here are some of the songs we cannot wait to hear live at the festival, to get you in the mood and counting down the weeks!
FRIDAY:
While this song was released in 2014 and has been around for a while, listening to the banger while the sun is setting down on Osheaga will truly be a perfect summer experience
Any track from the Montreal-based duo’s latest album Heads over heels is guaranteed to turn their set into a funky dance party, but special mention to the song Must’ve been.
After a fantastic performance at MTelus back in February, the American rock band will be back to make Montreal dance with this song.
Sweden’s up-and-coming singer Léon will perform in Montréal for the first time at Osheaga. The indie-upbeat vibes of Tired of Talking will definitely start the afternoon on a great note.
For a calmer pause after all this dancing, we will be looking forward to James Blake’s set! The British singer will definitely take the audience on a journey, to the sounds of the deconstructed R&B “Retrograde”.
SATURDAY:
After their amazing performance closing down Montreal’s Jazz Festival last year, we are looking forward to see Anderson .Paak and The Free Nationals hit the Osheaga stage this year! Listening to Come Down, and witnessing on of Anderson .Paak’s many talents (drums) live will be an experience to remember!
The place of rap is definitely growing at Osheaga, with more and more rappers joining the line-up every year. We will be forward to seeing Tyler, The Creator’s set, after watching his amazing at Coachella this year.
For a more relaxed set on Saturday, make sure to stop by to watch Toronto-based band Alvvays. The dreamy notes of Dreams Tonite make for a perfect chill and indie experience at the festival.
Every performance by LP leaves the audience stunned, and it is an experience you should not miss! We’ll be looking forward to dancing to the upbeat When We’re High at the festival!
An oldie but a goodie. Released in 2013, Do I Wanna Know? is one of the best songs out there to feel hyped. Listening to the strong beat and hypnotizing voice of Alex Turner will be an experience not to miss.
SUNDAY:
Even when performed without Lana Del Rey, this song performed live feels like a religious experience. Garrett’s angelic voice, the notes of synthesizer, and the prayer-like bridge promises to take the audience on a spiritual journey.
James Bay’s new album, “Electric Light”, is definitely a departure from the purely-acoustic style of his previous album. Pink Lemonade is an upbeat, catchy tune that we cannot wait to be singing along to!
Often described as a “One-woman band”, the extremely talented signer from Melbourne will have the audience of Osheaga in awe of her mastery of looping pedals, and the incredible sound that comes out of it.
The American rock band seems like the perfect pick for a just-before-the-headliner performance. Matt Berlinger’s deep voice will be sure to charm the audience of Osheaga, getting them ready for the final set of the weekend with Florence+The Machine.
Florence Welch is known to deliver incredible live performances. Closing off the weekend to incredibly powerful sounds of Shake It Out, accompanied by the usual fireworks that close off the festival will be an experience no one wants to miss!
Osheaga 2018 will take place in Montreal from August 3rd to 5th. 3-day passes and 1-day passes are now available for sale: https://www.osheaga.com/
