Calgary Folk Festival announces headliners for 2018

Festival season is upon us, and one festival that you can’t miss every year is the Calgary Folk Festival. 2018 marks the 39th annual folk fest, running July 26th-29th. The festival will host a total of 68 performers taking a number of stages spread across Calgary’s beautiful Princes Island Park, right in the middle of downtown. This year the headliners include Canadian pop artists Stars and Alvvays, A Tribe Called Red, country music sweetheart Lee Ann Womack, Reuben and the Dark, Bahamas, Neko Case, and Joe Jackson. The most anticipated act by music lovers and organizers alike is British musician Joe Jackson, so much so that the festival cut an act from the main stage to give Jackson an almost two-hour slot to close out the Friday evening show. Other acts set for the weekend include Amy Helm, Copperhead, Hubby Jenkins, Land of Talk, Passenger, and Sarah and the Disarmers, to name a few.

Tickets are on sale now, and you can lock down the weekend in its entirety for as low as $180. Single day passes are also available for between $60-$80. You can view the complete lineup as well as purchase tickets at calgaryfolkfest.com. So get your lawn chairs or picnic blankets out, and get ready to enjoy one of Calgary’s most iconic summer festivals.
