Warner Music Canada, Chevrolet and Boots & Hearts Music Festival are teaming up to find Canada’s next Country Music Superstar. The contest, which kicked off this week, includes a nationwide search which will include the finalists all performing at the Boots & Hearts Emerging Artist Showcase at the festival on August 9th at Burl’s Creek in Oro-Medonte, ON.
Interested artists are encouraged to put together a 1-2 minute video that includes some performance as well as their own personal story. Videos can be uploaded here. Seven finalists will be chosen from all the submissions and will be announced on June 29th. Then, voting will be held on Chevrolet Canada’s YouTube channel from June 29th to July 13th to select the eighth finalist. The winner will be announced on the final day of the festival (August 12th) and they will perform on the Boots & Hearts MainStage ahead of Brett Young and Thomas Rhett.
“The Emerging Artist Showcase has become a time honoured tradition at Boots and Hearts in the spirit of finding the next great country artist in our own backyard.” said Lisa Zechmeister, Director of Booking and Development at Boots & Hearts Music Festival. “Each year it becomes more and more difficult to pare down to eight finalists with the immense talent submitted to this contest, we absolutely can’t wait to see who will be featured on this year’s main stage”.
“The Canadian country music scene has never been more vibrant and exciting than it is today,” says Warner Music Canada President Steve Kane. “We are thrilled to partner with Boots & Hearts, one of North America’s premiere music festivals, to discover Canada’s next Country Music Superstar.”
The winner of the 2018 Boots & Hearts Emerging Artist Showcase will also win a 5-day trip for two to Nashville, a writing session with a premiere Nashville producer or songwriters, a professional photo shoot; a recording session and Warner Music Canada will release a recorded single to all download and streaming providers.
I’m Nicole, a biology teacher by day, but my life revolves around music. I’m that girl that you will always find with the concert t-shirt on and ear buds in. It is rare that you find me without some type of music playing in the background. I connect all of my life experiences to music. It truly has its own language in my heart. There is nothing more exciting than taking in all that a concert has to offer. I love to support local Canadian acts and attend as many shows that I can.
