Nostalgia Music Festival is a creative addition to Ottawa’s festival lineup

In a very interesting twist to the Canadian summer concert festival scene, Ottawa will play host to the Nostalgia Music Festival, August 24 to 26 at Lebreton Flats.

The unique twist? Nostalgia Music Festival will play host to 19 world class tribute bands.  Fans of artists ranging from Led Zeppelin to ABBA will enjoy a weekend of singing their hearts out the world’s greatest classic rock and pop hits performed by the biggest fans of the artists.

While the festival will feature acts paying tribute to traditional groups like the Rolling Stones, Pink Floyd and Queen, there will also be tributes to bands and artists one may not realise have tribute acts.  Let’s take a look at few.

Practically Petty

Just over a year since Lebreton Flats played host to a stop on the final Tom Petty and the Heartbreakers tour, Practically Petty promise to bring a performance that stays true to the essence of the late Travelling Wilbury.

Face 2 Face

Why pay tribute to one great when you can pay tribute to two?  Face 2 Face does just that by tapping into the spirit of the Elton John/Billy Joel concert tours of the ‘90’s and ‘00’s.

Road Apples

So this one isn’t necessarily a unique concept on the tribute band, but it should be noted that Kingston-based, Road Apples, the group has been touring the country for over 25 years as Canada’s premiere Tragically Hip tribute act.
