Care to introduce yourself to our readers?
Hello readers, I’m Teasha Huns. Music is, and always will be everything to me. I hope to inspire, evoke emotion, and help people feel the way music has made me feel all my life.
Tell us a bit about your music and writing style.
If I would have to compare my writing style to someone, it would be SZA, but I really don’t like to compare; everyone is their own. I trained classically for 8 years, which definitely influences my voice, but I would say my style now, is mostly r&b/pop/alternative.
Do you have any upcoming shows? For someone who has yet to see you live, how would you explain your live performance?
I have a couple shows coming up: May 19th– Chvrch of John with Flavours, and June 21 at union for RAW. For my performances, expect sultry vibes, a big voice and heartfelt lyrics.
If you were asked to suggest only one of your songs for someone to hear, which would it be?
For 2018 I will be releasing my first two singles, my album and a lot more music! In addition to that, keep your eyes peeled for a ton of performances. Get ready for Teasha Huns.
Canadian Beats is all about Canadian music, so who are your current favourite Canadian bands/ artists?
Right now, my top two Canadian artists are Jessie Reyez and of course Drake. Jessie Reyez is killing it right now, her lyrics are amazing and she has such a unique voice. Definitely have a lot of respect for women killing it in the game, writing all their own lyrics and doing their thing. Big ups!
I’m Jenna, and I am the founder and editor of Canadian Beats. I have had a strong love for Canadian music, which started many years ago. I have a passion for promoting these talented Canadian bands and artists, and that’s how Canadian Beats came to be. I am so proud of what it has become over the last few years, with many talented music lovers and writers coming together to spread the word of Canada’s music.
