Niagara-born multi-platinum, award-winning country music entertainer Tim Hicks is a tad excited for the June 22 release of his fourth studio album New Tattoo via Open Road Recordings/Universal Music Canada. Coming off his high from his first single of this album, “LOUD,” that was released on April 13, which was also officially licensed by the NHL for broadcast across North America during this year’s playoff games.
All tracks of New Tattoo were co-written by Hicks with ten of them produced by Jeff Coplan. Todd Clark produced “LOUD” (it was the #1 most-added song at Canadian radio in all formats on its first week of release), and Jeff Coplan and Dwave produced “Gettin’ to Me.” New Tattoo is a collection of music that acts like a slingshot taking you between traditional country, guitar-driven rock vibes and blue-collar country. This album was all about Hicks getting back into the studio to create tunes that helped build his brand that he started his career with – and to have a great time doing that.
Shares Hicks about New Tattoo,
“I’m super proud of my last couple of records, but I really wanted to make sure that fans and listeners could hear how much fun this album was to make. So one goal going in this time was to not get caught up in what I felt people would expect from me and just get down to making music my way – having a good time and recording great songs. This album is literally a ‘new tattoo’ and it’s going to live with me forever (like a tattoo), so it was important to be fully present in the studio and make some incredible musical memories.”

Hi all. I’m Nanci Dagg. I am from Winnipeg, Manitoba, and have lived my entire life here. There is nothing I like better than supporting local artists followed by supporting Canadian artists. Although I was a classic rock gal, my go to genre is country. Something about this music that just makes me feel great. I can be found at most country music concerts and shows (from someone’s house to really large venues) taking lots of pictures. Music and photography are two of my passions. Add to this mix, writing about artists, well let’s say, life doesn’t get better than this.
