Mike Denney founded MDM Recordings Inc. in 2008 and has since been on a whirlwind in this life that is called country music. He’s worked hard and played hard to get where he is today. Denney has had the honour of being named Record Company Person of the Year at the Canadian Country Music Association (CCMA) Awards in 2014, 2015 and 2017. MDM has close to 41 million LTD streams of their Canadian catalogue releases by Bobby Wills, Chad Brownlee, Charlie Major, David James, Jess Moskaluke, Leaving Thomas, The Lovelocks, Tim Chaisson and more. They currently have forty Top 30 hits, 16 Top 10 songs and close to a million spins at Canadian country radio. Also, in 2018, MDM Recordings Inc. president, Mike Denney, has been nominated for the 2018 Country Music Association of Ontario (CMAO) for Industry Person of the Year.
MDM considers their industry professionals a devout and close-knit team that is affectionately known as the “road family.” They have established themselves as the artist-friendly label and have launched the successful careers of many of Canada’s top country music artists today. Mike Denney and his team have taken his own passionate vision from a one-man operation to an award-winning one that has its presence known throughout North America and Australia.
MDM Recording Inc. is marking this momentous occasion with new releases from 2017 JUNO Award winner and three-time CCMA Award winner for Female Artist of the Year, Jess Moskaluke, CCMA Award winners Bobby Wills and The Lovelocks, and CCMA Award nominee David James in addition to a brand new collaboration from Charlie Major and the unveiling of musical collective Black Mountain Whiskey Rebellion.
Says president and founder, Mike Denney,
“The tenth anniversary of MDM Recordings is a momentous event that demonstrates our commitment and dedication to bringing better ideas, better music and best-in-class artists to country music fans and the industry. It’s no secret that our industry is experiencing tumultuous times. Yet, MDM and the country music genre have weathered these changes and continue to grow and exceed despite uncertainty in the market. We couldn’t have done it without the bold decision-making and support of our artists, partners and fans, and we look forward to the next ten years.”
Congratulations to Mike Denney, his team and his “road family” from all of us at Canadian Beats.
Hi all. I’m Nanci Dagg. I am from Winnipeg, Manitoba, and have lived my entire life here. There is nothing I like better than supporting local artists followed by supporting Canadian artists. Although I was a classic rock gal, my go to genre is country. Something about this music that just makes me feel great. I can be found at most country music concerts and shows (from someone’s house to really large venues) taking lots of pictures. Music and photography are two of my passions. Add to this mix, writing about artists, well let’s say, life doesn’t get better than this.
