Anytime the music community loses one of their own, it is sad. For many Sudbury and area musicians it was particularly dificult to say goodbye to a friend far too soon. In December 2017, Jean Marc (JM) Vaillancourt passed away, at 54 years young, from Kidney Disease. He was a father, friend, companion, entrepreneur, volunteer and much more. He was a member of several local bands over the years including Cruzer, Euphoria, Spyre, The Big Nickel Band, Shades of Midnight, Foreplay, Witness, Butler, Hipshake and the Bluez Brotherz.
In honour of JM’s contribution and involvement in the local music scene, a committee has organized a Celebration of Life and Fundraiser Concert to benefit Health Sciences North Dialysis Department. The event will take place Sunday April 15, 2018, at the Caruso Club, 385 Haig Street, Sudbury, ON. Several of the bands JM performed with will be featured and an open jam will follow. Doors open at 5:30 pm, Showtime 6:00 pm, Open Jam 9:00-10:00pm.
Hello everyone! My name is Linda and I have been a fan of Canadian Music for as long as I can remember. That counts for way too many decades than I want to admit to! I have three primary passions in my life, music, photography and writing. When I can combine them all, I feel I am right where I should be. Though I can appreciate all genres of music, my particular favourite is Country. Canadian Country is moving in leaps and bounds. I love how it is progressing and I’m thankful that I can be a small part of it.
