Since 1987, one of the highlights of the Saskatoon festival and event circuit – and a must-see for any music lover at heart – is the SaskTel Saskatchewan Jazz Festival.
Running this year from June 22nd to July 1st, the SaskTel Saskatchewan Jazz Festival is excited to announce the 2018 ticketed lineup including artists playing at the TD Mainstage, Broadway Theatre, and the iconic Bassment Club.
The second largest festival of its kind in Western Canada, the Saskatel Jazz festival has been a hotbed for music fans with a soul for jazz and an eclectic ear. This year proves to be no different!
This year’s diverse lineup includes acts such as Ben Harper & Charlie Musselwhite, City and Colour, The Flaming Lips, Kamasi Washington, Bonobo (Live), John Butler Trio, Matt Andersen and the Bona Fide, Tom Cochrane with Red Rider, Dee Dee Bridgewater & the Memphis Soulphony, Kellylee Evans, The Jerry Douglas Band, the Spanish Harlem Orchestra and many more!

The ever-popular Groove Series lineup at Amigos Cantina and The Capitol Music Club includes Deerhoof, Moon Hooch, The Sue Foley Band, and Sons of Kemet. New for this year, fans will no longer have to wait to get tickets for the Groove Series. The SaskTel Saskatchewan Jazz Festival is offering advanced and ticket bundles to all these in-demand shows.
“The Groove Series has been an integral part of the festival lineup and creates a festival vibe that goes late into the night and early morning,” says Tobin. “The diversity of the artists and genres reflects the diverse musical tastes of our community and with our bundle incentive, music fans will be able to catch some incredible talent”.
The enthusiastically attended free programming, including the Nutrien Free Stage and other venues in the downtown area, will be announced on Thursday, April 26th.

As well as this year’s lineup, the SaskTel Jazz Festival is pleased to once again offer the popular “Build Your Experience” Bundle allowing festival fans to receive 15% off when purchasing tickets for three or more shows. The “Build Your Experience” Bundle, like Choose Your Own Adventure stories with perpetually amazing endings, is available until 11:59 pm on Thursday, June 21st.
To encourage up-and-coming music lovers, children 7 years old and under are admitted for free with any adult ticket holder to a maximum of two children per adult to any TD Mainstage show. Youth aged 8 to 12 are eligible to receive 50% off the regular price of a TD Mainstage show.
Individual tickets, and the ‘Build Your Experience’ Bundle, go on sale as of 10:00 am on Friday, March 23rd.

The Riz is a prolific multi-genre songwriter, lyricist, writer and bassist for “Demolition Rock” sensation Ultimate Power Duo. A staple of the Saskatoon music scene, he has toured extensively across Canada, the U.S. and the U.K. The Riz is also the composer and saxophone player for R. Muttering, an avant-garde soundscape improvisational electro-acoustic performance art and recording group. Besides his Bachelor of Music in Music Education (B. Mus. (Mus. Ed.) / B. Ed. (Mus.)) from the University of Saskatchewan, he has amazing comic and vinyl collections.
