Review – Erin Kay

Album: Silver and Gold
Release Date: March 8, 2018
Genre: Singer-Songwriter

Edmonton based musician, Erin Kay released her new album Silver and Gold on March 8th, 2018.

Erin has a jazzy vocal dialect, reminiscent of Amy Kuney. Her higher singing register is very pretty, and she uses it well, especially in the song “All I Know”. The album is filled with country undertones and honest lyrics, such as “I wanna live while I am young and able” and “Bless your patient heart to love a woman like me the way you do”.

Silver & Gold is very personal and includes a track about Erin leaving an abusive relationship. She is clearly a very strong woman, and it’s fitting that her album came out on International Women’s Day.

The track “You Are The Moon” features Erin’s daughter and a children’s choir, which is an incredibly sweet touch to the album.

Additionally, the album artwork is absolutely gorgeous.
