Toronto-based psych folk band Beams is set to release their sophormore album ‘Teach Me To Love’ on February 23, 2018. The songs on this album are well worth hearing. The lyrics are thought provoking, vocals are haunting and their sound is unlike anything you may be familiar with – some great harmonies and instruments that include banjo, mandolin, lap steel and a singing saw help make their sound unique.
We had the opportunity to talk to Anna Mernieks, song writer and co-front person for the band. We talk about the album, her writing, dealing with depression and more.
The evening of release day, Beams will be performing a special show at the Smiling Buddha with L Con and CATL from 9:00 pm to 1:00 am.

Hello everyone! My name is Linda and I have been a fan of Canadian Music for as long as I can remember. That counts for way too many decades than I want to admit to! I have three primary passions in my life, music, photography and writing. When I can combine them all, I feel I am right where I should be. Though I can appreciate all genres of music, my particular favourite is Country. Canadian Country is moving in leaps and bounds. I love how it is progressing and I’m thankful that I can be a small part of it.
