Calgary based, Ten Minute Detour have teamed up with us at Canadian Beats to premiere their brand new single, “Woodshed”. The track is off of their upcoming sophomore album, Common Pleasure, and was recorded in Nashville withLincoln Parish (former and original guitarist for Cage The Elephant).
Frontman, Andrew Shier describes in the inspiration for the song,
“The music industry is a pretty tough road, and an incredibly rewarding one. One day you can be riding this high from touring. The next, you’re miserable because you haven’t played a show, or things just aren’t clicking. I think it’s important to remember the positives in what we’ve achieved as a band, and as individuals. Sometimes we feel a little out of it, and need to realize that we’ve also seen the other side of things, feeling really good. Often you just need to look at things from another angle and rework it, or “take it to the woodshed” to suit the needs of the band, and to align ourselves with the ultimate goal of doing this for a living.”
