“Say Something” For Mental Health

Today, as we give a voice to metal health, through Bell Let’s Talk Day, there is a song, with a powerful message, going out to music stream sites by St. Catharines, ON singer/songwriter, Brad Battle.

If the song, “Say Something”, sounds familiar, it is A Great Big World cover that resonates with Battle, who has had his own struggle with depression. Not too many years ago, at his lowest point, he plotted out his own suicide. Thanks to opening up to his wife and getting the help he needed, it was a long road back to feeling normal.

To see Battle, he is one of the cheeriest people you will ever see. Always with a smile, a laugh and a witty joke, but lerking just inside are the demons that continually cut you down. The man back then is not the man now. He, with the support of his family and friends, has used music as his outlet to overcome the disease. This is why “Say Something” is a timely song for him to release.

As his way of giving back to those who have helped him, he will be donating a portion of the proceeds to benefit the Mental Health Initiatives in Canada. “Say Something” can be purchased here.

Please, if you are suffering from mental illness, talk to someone. You are valuable, even if you don’t see it. You never know what blessing are around the corner for you by living.
