Florence K has offered up her own holiday greetings in the form of her latest EP, A New Christmas. The Christmas themed EP is now available. Florence K co-wrote four of the EP’s songs with Vince Degiorgio and features two duets with famed Montreal DJ/producer Stefie Shock. Florence K performs in both English and French on A New Christmas and displays Florence K’s musical appeal in both languages. A New Christmas is festive and showcases Florence K’s unique and jazzy stylings.
“Some of the greatest tunes in the world, in both the jazz and the pop universe are Christmas songs. I wanted to give myself a shot at writing some new melodies that people could sing along to and whistle during the Holiday season,” explains Florence K.
Florence K invited her younger sisters Éléonore and Ariane Lagacé to sing back vocals on four of the tracks on A New Christmas making the EP a family affair. The EP was Co-produced by Florence K, Nick Petrowski and Stefie Shock. Recorded at Montreal’s unique Mixart Studios, A New Christmas also features the talents of Ben Riley on drums, Kiko Osorio on percussions, Domenic Romanelli on bass, Guy Kaye on guitar, along with a full brass section to bring out the best of the holiday sounds.
Florence K’s vocal gifts shine through on A New Christmas. With the unique collaboration between Florence K and Stefie Shock, the outcome is pure Christmas musical magic. Showing that her style and creativity is important, Florence K strikes up some new holiday chords with her original material.
