Singer/songwriter, Winona Wilde has released a brand new video for her single, “Pincushion Soldier”. This is the song that earned her the 2017 Ontario Arts Council’s Colleen Peterson Songwriting Award.
When we asked Winona about the video, she responded,
“Panda Landa, the video artist, is based out of Joshua Tree in California and worked with images of dark and light to depict how to live and move on after suffering heartbreak and loss.”
She also shared a bit about the background of her music,
“I am working on a new folk tradition of telling women’s stories that are not often shared aloud, and that usually involves the grief of womens‘ lived experience. I hope to be injecting that into the canon of Canadian folk music.”
Winona starts her North American tour on November 21 in Portland, OR with Canadian stops scheduled in various cities. See dates below.
