Five Questions With Adam Dahan

We had a brief chat with Montreal based R&B/ pop artist, Adam Dahan around the release of his newest single, “Lose My Love”. You can check out the video below, as well as our newest segment of Five Questions With.

Care to introduce yourself to our readers?

I`m an R&B/Pop artist from Montreal. I always loved to sing and at the age of 15, I began to play the piano and write songs. I then attended a program at the Musicians Institute in Los Angeles, then pursued my passion for the art by releasing my own renditions of my favourite artist’s music.

It all paid off and led to a record deal with a Canadian label. I had the opportunity to open for many notable artists including Rick Ross, Meek Mill, Tyga, Wale and Kardinal Offishall to name a few. This gave me the chance to work with numerous artists like Kardinal Offishall who remixed my first single which caught the attention of radio stations in North America. After 3 years I left the label and have been working on my music independently ever since.

Tell us a bit about your music and writing style.

My music is fun, energetic and easy to listen too. I enjoy writing pop music however my real passion is for Urban R&B. My songs all have one thing in common which are strong hooks because that is ultimately what the listener retains from your track. My music is positive vibes and has a good energy. All my music is in some way connected or based on a true experience of mine.

Do you have any upcoming shows? For someone who has yet to see you live, how would you explain your live performance?

I`m not touring at the moment, right now I’m focusing on working with producers and other talents and really want to create new music for an album, though I will definitely be out there in 2018, you`ll be able to catch me at industry events and small shows for sure! The shows will be full of surprises, get ready for a high energy performance!

If you were asked to suggest only one of your songs for someone to hear, which would it be?

I think my song of choice would have to be my song focused. I was brainstorming with my girls @heartbeat (Canadian female songwriter duo) and we wanted to do an urban R&B song with a west coast vibe. With the girls help, I was able to get creative and we created this high energy club banger. The production is really dope and it is my personal favourite track. I think the beat is super hard and the way the track progresses from verse to verse keeps you interested and you don’t get bored. The song’s chorus is very strong too. Stay tuned for focused which is not yet released but will be part of the project.

Canadian Beats is all about Canadian music, so who are your current favourite Canadian bands/ artists?

My favourite Canadian artists are Drake, The Weeknd, Torey Lanez, Alessia Cara, Shawn Mendes, Nav and some Justin Bieber is always good.
