Toronto’s AlphaCub recently released a new single entitled “Don’t Waste My Love” which you can hear below. When asked about the single, he comments
“‘Dont Waste My Love’ is a song about me trying to react positively through difficult moments in my life. All proceeds for the single will go towards Cystic Fibrosis Canada; a cause that is very dear to me.”
We also wanted to give you a chance to learn more about this Canadian artist, so we decided to conduct a segment of Five Questions With, which you can check out below.
Care to introduce yourself to our readers?
I feel like I should have an ‘entry song’ playing so everyone reading this imagine the ‘Taxi’ theme song…I’m AlphaCub and my favourite colour is purple.
Tell us a bit about your music and writing style.
I love the 80’s. I love anything that was played in the back of my parent’s station wagon on my way to school. I write from that stream of consciousness.
Do you have any upcoming shows? For someone who has yet to see you live, how would you explain your live performance?
It’s a play. A performance. If I’m angry you’re going to feel it. If I’m sad you’re going to feel it. If I’m happy…I’m never happy.
If you were asked to suggest only one of your songs for someone to hear, which would it be?
‘Friends’. If you haven’t heard it then you’re not mine.
Canadian Beats is all about Canadian music, so who are your current favourite Canadian bands/ artists?
So many to choose from. William Prince and Colter Wall are my favourite Canadian artists right now. I’m going to see Colter at the Horseshoe November 2nd you should come too.
I’m Jenna, and I am the founder and editor of Canadian Beats. I have had a strong love for Canadian music, which started many years ago. I have a passion for promoting these talented Canadian bands and artists, and that’s how Canadian Beats came to be. I am so proud of what it has become over the last few years, with many talented music lovers and writers coming together to spread the word of Canada’s music.
