Care to introduce yourself to our readers?
Hey! My name is hey! dw, I’m a DJ and plays drums at the same time, kinda like Joan Jett meets EDM.
Tell us a bit about your music and writing style.
As a drummer, I’m all about percussion. I love deep house and anything bouncy that makes your body want to move. My first and foremost goal when writing is: ‘can I dance to it?’
Do you have any upcoming shows? For someone who has yet to see you live, how would you explain your live performance?
I am gearing up to go on tour with Mystery Skulls across the states. My live performance are pretty much the squirt emoji + lighting, it’s a high-energy, BIG sweaty dance party.

Definitely my new single “Breathe” that just dropped!
Canadian Beats is all about Canadian music, so who are your current favourite Canadian bands/ artists?
I haven’t stopped listening to Allie X since her new album dropped, she is the dark queen of pop. I love her.
I’m Jenna, and I am the founder and editor of Canadian Beats. I have had a strong love for Canadian music, which started many years ago. I have a passion for promoting these talented Canadian bands and artists, and that’s how Canadian Beats came to be. I am so proud of what it has become over the last few years, with many talented music lovers and writers coming together to spread the word of Canada’s music.
