Montreal couldn’t have asked for a better day for the wrap up of this year’s Osheaga festival. Sun shining, a few clouds over head and a nice breeze made for a perfect day and perfect festival days make for a lot of music being taken in and such was the case for us. From Phantogram to Foster the People, Run the Jewels to Die Antwoord, Death From Above 1979 to The Weeknd and so many more. We didn’t seem to stop on day 3 and neither did the surprises.
We spent a lot of time at the smaller stages checking out artists we’d not seen before and the bill at each were chalk full of raw talent. With 2017 apparently being the year B comes to truly appreciate hiphop I found myself thoroughly enjoying both Denzel Curry and Flatbush Zombies while John found himself pulled in by DFA 1979 to the very end of their set. We were both pleasantly surprised at just how good Foxygen were live, definitely a must see again.
Of course the real star of the show for many was the headliner, Canada’s own The Weeknd, who put on a fantastic show for one of the biggest audiences of the festival.
