Review – Matt Paxton

Album: Hunter Street Station Blues
Release Date: July 21, 2017
Genre: Indie Folk

Matt Paxton is a singer/songwriter who resides in Hamilton, ON. Matt has just dropped his newest EP entitled Hunter Street Station Blues. Whenever he needed a break from the stresses of life he would turn to creating this EP, which proved to be an excellent outlet. Matt says he gets his influences for his music from the places and people who are in his life. The new EP consists of four full length tracks.

The song that first caught my attention was “Baby Don’t Go.” It’s the first song on the EP and is an incredible song to listen to . “Baby Don’t Go” is a song that displays raw emotion behind it, it’s slow but catchy at the same time and Paxton’s vocals are what made me fall in love with this EP.. The other song that captured my interest was “Put It All Back Together”, which is the fourth song on the release. The song is beautifully written and had me hooked from the beginning. I love his passion for music and how it shines throughout his songs. Hunter Street Station Blues showcases Matt’s love and dedication to his music. I have really enjoyed listening to this EP and if you’re looking for something new to listen to, Matt Paxton is definitely someone I would highly recommend.
