The 2017 Festival d’été de Québec is in full swing and we have the honour of dropping in on this annual summer festival in Quebec City for a few days to savour all that it has to offer! Our own Nicole Wolfe was able to catch DNCE, Arkells and Talisco last night on the LOTO-QUÉBEC STAGE at the beautiful Parc de la Francophonie. Despite threatening weather (and honestly, what summer festival is not complete without ominous gloomy weather??) over 10 000 fans packed the park for what was an amazing night of music.
Talisco, based out of Paris, France, brought a dynamic show to Québec. They infused electro-pop sounds into their totally hooky rock songs for a set that had fans dancing in the crowds. Arkells continued to win over the hearts of spectators with their always entertaining set. Lead singer Max Kerman jumped into the crowd not once, but twice and two fans were invited up on stage to participate in the show, including a young man who was lucky enough to play Max’ guitar for a song! The night ended in style with DNCE, a vibrant band fronted by none other than Joe Jonas. They played their hit song, “Cake by the Ocean”, among other crowd favourites in a show that must be experienced live!
Stay tuned for more highlights from the festival as it continues to roll out in Québec City! Check out our Facebook page for more pictures from this show.
I’m Nicole, a biology teacher by day, but my life revolves around music. I’m that girl that you will always find with the concert t-shirt on and ear buds in. It is rare that you find me without some type of music playing in the background. I connect all of my life experiences to music. It truly has its own language in my heart. There is nothing more exciting than taking in all that a concert has to offer. I love to support local Canadian acts and attend as many shows that I can.
