On June 12th, the Alberta Diamond- Certified award winning rock band Nickelback released their music video for their new single “Song on Fire”. This single is taken from their ninth studio album Feed the Machine, which was released June 16th via BMG. I really enjoyed watching the video, it is a compelling tale of love prevailing, that makes you feel personally connected to a beautiful story.
“As we were working on this song, a very personal one for me, we all instantly connected to it on different levels through our own experiences,” said the band’s lead singer, Chad Kroeger. “Everyone has a need to love or be loved and we’ve all been hurt or felt loss. It’s about your heart yearning for something that your rational mind knows is impossible to hold onto. There is a universally, haunting finality to losing love and we found ‘our protagonist’ (in this song) trying to reclaim it; but not knowing where to begin or that it might ultimately be in vain.”
I am certain most listeners will enjoy this single and video release.
My name is Marianne and a music lover from Nova Scotia. I am a full time working mom of 2 beautiful girls who are full of life and love. I have an absolute passion for music and writing, I jumped at the opportunity to freelance for Canadian Beats. I love local music, I grew up in a family full of Gaelic singers in Cape Breton but I also have a passion for country and just about anything else that catches my ear. Writing gives me something of my own that is completely out of my day to day activity, it somewhat allows me to escape my everyday.
When I am not working, writing and hanging out with my husband and girls, I am running, reading or riding my horse.
