Kasha Anne and Mitchell Smith might be better known as the musical duo, The Orchard. The country-crossover duo recently released their third album The Great Unknown on March 10, 2017. Now just in time for summer playlists and beach day jams the duo have released their latest single “Bright Eyes.” With Anne (Vocals) and Smith (Guitar/Slide Guitar/Ukelele/Vocals) what you hear is what you get. Well-conceived songs and well performed music, the duo’s work together speaks volumes for itself.
“Bright Eyes” is well crafted and catchy. It offers a glimpse into The Great Unknown and what to expect when you see the duo performing live. “Bright Eyes” has some great lyrics, and is a reminder that there can always be a silver lining to any experience life might have to offer, good or bad. I loved the line “We’ll find our way/These things take time/Hold out your hand/We’ll be just fine.”
With the release of The Great Unknown and the albums second single, the duo is hitting the road across Alberta and British Columbia this summer season to bring their live show directly to fans. With their music described as “a cosmic blend of rock, country and pop,” you should definitely add The Orchard to your list of musicians to check out or listen to.

Music has touched my soul since day one. Whether it is performing or sitting down with some of the biggest names in music, I can always be found sharing my profoundly tender affection of music with anyone who will listen. Being a music journalist has allowed me to expand my knowledge of music and interact with some of my biggest childhood heroes. From days of radio broadcasting to sitting back, kicking off my cowboy boots and sharing my adventures with likeminded music fans online has been nothing short of amazing. Canada is full of true musical talent and I look forward to continuing to share my adventures in music with you.
