Michael Jackson rose to fame as the ultimate “King of Pop” when his 1982 album release, Thriller topped the charts as the world’s best-selling album, and where it still holds the title today at over an estimated 65 million copies sold. From humble beginnings as part of the family group The Jackson 5 to chart busting number one singles as a solo artist, Jackson had his fair share of success and influence through his music until his untimely passing in June 2009. Though Jackson has since passed away, his fans old and new will be able to experience his creativity through his legacy of music, dance, and performing.
Known to blaze trails and set high performance standards it comes as no major surprise that people will still arrive in great numbers to get a chance to hear Jackson’s music performed. With memorable melodies, and moving lyrics Jackson’s songs are enjoyed worldwide. Jackson’s signature dance moves, ever changing style and fashion are tackled by the incredible talent of; Martin Lacasse, Tamara Dupuis, and Nancy Fortin in the Cabaret du Casino’s production of Forever Michael which runs until June 23, 2017.
Lacasse, Dupuis, and Fortin are back by a world-class team of fellow artists, musicians, and highly skilled dancers who help bring Jackson back to life through song, dance, and imagery. With the iconic dance moves, and Jackson inspired costumes the show kicks off with medleys and solo performances of some of Jackson’s earlier hits and signature songs as a member of The Jackson 5 such as; “I’ll Be There,” “ABC,” “The Love Your Save,” “Shake Your Body to the Ground,” “I Want You Back,” “Off The Wall,” and “Rock With You.”
The show evolves as Lacasse, Dupuis, and Fortin take you through a chronological walk down Jackson’s entire discography. With hundreds of singles and number one hits to choose from, the show is a combination of medleys of some of the biggest hits, and show stopping performances of some of Jackson’s most beloved catalogue entries. The show is set as a high-class homage and is enjoyable for every Jackson fan. To hear Jackson’s music performed by this talented cast once again creates the same musical atmosphere that Jackson himself created. The evening is high energy and audience members are strongly encouraged to take to the floor to dance and sing along. Even “moonwalk” if you dare. The show doesn’t leave you hanging. With over 30 songs packed into the 90 minute set list, everything is covered from “Bad” to “Black or White” and even the smash “Thriller.”

Music has touched my soul since day one. Whether it is performing or sitting down with some of the biggest names in music, I can always be found sharing my profoundly tender affection of music with anyone who will listen. Being a music journalist has allowed me to expand my knowledge of music and interact with some of my biggest childhood heroes. From days of radio broadcasting to sitting back, kicking off my cowboy boots and sharing my adventures with likeminded music fans online has been nothing short of amazing. Canada is full of true musical talent and I look forward to continuing to share my adventures in music with you.
