Pemberton Music Festival takes place on July 13-16, and features a huge amount of talent. Here are 5 bands that I can’t wait to see on the stage at the festival.
The trio from TO will be bringing their unique sound to the Pemby stage this summer! They’ve got 3 albums under their belt and a 4th in the works. Perhaps we’ll be treated to a sneak preview of the new material.
Three time Grammy winner Ben Harper is a heck of a performer! The multi instrumentalist and his band will be in the middle of a big North American tour and running like a well oiled machine by the time they get to Pemberton this July. Be prepared for a killer blues/rock/reggae/jazz set that will leave you wanting more!
A Tribe Called Red will definitely have the crowd at Pemby jumping to their ‘PowWow-Step’ beats under the hot July sun! These three DJ’s are first timers at the festival and A Tribe Called Quest just happens to be in the lineup as well which makes me hopeful we could see them collaborate on stage!
Dean and Gene Ween will be pushing the little daisies up in the Pemberton meadows this Summer! The dynamic duo from Pennsylvania have a cult like following and are festival favourites for sure. They’ve come a long way from playing in front of pre recorded backing tracks in local bars and they’ve had a bit of a harsh ride along the way, but Ween have proven they’re not quitters, and I’m super excited to see them!
The hard alt/rocking Brits have a unique sound that’s instantly recognizable. Chris Wolstenholme with his signature fuzz bass, Dominic Howard thunderously pounding the drums, and Matt Bellamy with his use of vibrato and falsetto. Muse have won several awards including two Grammies and have been going strong since 1994.
